SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS MET (Effective November 1, 2007)
EDUCATION
300 hours of AQB required “Core Curriculum” courses and a Bachelors degree or higher. In lieu of the required degree Thirty (30) semester credit hours in the following courses; English Composition; Micro Economics; Macro Economics; Finance; Algebra, Geometry or higher mathematics; Statistics; Computer Science; Business or Real Estate Law; and two (2) elective courses in accounting; geography; ageconomics; business management; or real estate, Must include 15 hours of the Uniform Standards of professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) completed within two years of application.
EXPERIENCE
3,000 hours of acceptable real estate appraisal experience over a minimum of 30 months (22 years). A minimum of 1,500 hours must be in non-residential real estate appraising. Experience may be acquired anytime during the appraiser's career when that person had legal authority to perform real estate appraisals. Must comply with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
EXAM
Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) approved general certification examination. Exam is administered by Prosmissor, a national testing service.
SCOPE OF WORK
May appraise all types of real property without regard to complexity or transaction value for federally related transactions (FRT) and nonfederally related (Non-FRT) transactions. Must comply with Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
APPRAISER CONTINUING EDUCATION (ACE)
General Certified, Residential Certified, State Licensed, and Provisional Licensed real estate appraisers are required to complete a total of 28 hours of ACE, which must include 7 hours of approved USPAP, for each two-year renewal. Courses must be completed during the two-year period of the license or certification being renewed. Courses do not carry forward to future renewals.
