TARRANT COUNTY AND FORT WORTH TEXAS
Tarrant County is an urban county in the north of Texas with a population of approximately 1.7 million people. Many different kinds of business and professions, ranging from cattle and agriculture to aerospace and defense companies, are found here. Tarrant County today has a strong and growing economy with international business ties with many other counties. The airports here link it to the rest of USA and the world, too. In 2007 the population was reported to be 1,717,435, and the total area of the county is 897 square miles, or 2,324 square kilometers.
Forest Park Miniature Train Ride The Forest Park Miniature Railroad is a miniature train ride with bridge crossings, rivers, tunnels, woods and more. The entire trip is five miles long and beautiful. Sundance Square Sundance Square is the Entertainment and Commercial heart of Forth Worth. It's made up of over 20 blocks of shopping buildings, most of which are renovated. There are always live performances going on here, lots of shopping options and a great variety of places to eat. Horse carriage guided city tours are also available.
National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame is the only museum in the world to honor cowgirls. The museum has lot of rare photography worth looking at, lot of historical reading material in its research library and, of course, the great cowgirls who are in its Hall of Fame. Besides those, about 400 other legendary cowgirls are displayed at the museum.
Forth Worth Zoo The Forth Worth Zoo has more than 350 varieties of animals to exhibit. The various attractions of the zoo include a country carousel, a Movie House, petting Corral, play barn, a Tasmanian tower, a miniature train ride, and a weather theater
Forth Worth Botanic Garden The Forth Worth Botanic Garden has beautiful flower gardens, though the main types of flowers here are roses, other fragrance flowers and perennials. The garden is 114 acres in area and has more than 2,500 native and exotic species. There's also 7.5 acres of Japanese meditation gardens encircled in bamboo. The restaurant in the garden serves light snacks like sandwiches, salads, soups etc. There's also a gift shop which is open everyday.
